  2001 - New 'Altogether Fresher!' stores opened in Shoeburyness, Hawkwell, Meppel Avenue, Canvey Island
    - Moved premises from a small store to a larger unit in Cressing Road
    - We pioneered 'over 55' seminars
  2002 - The Bereavement and Aftercare Support Group started in Braintree
    - 'Altogether Fresher!' Wickford was converted into a 'quadrant' department store
    - Thundersley 'Altogether Fresher!' was opened
  2003 - Baddow Road Funeral Home opened
    - Upgrade of the Society's till systems
    - New 'Altogether Fresher!' stores opened in Havengore
    - The Co-operative Group bought 'Alldays'
    - 'Altogether Fresher!' Bocking received major refurbishment
    - The Society celebrates 135 years of trading
  2004 - The non-food division joins the Co-operative Retail Trading Group's Department Store operation
    - Travel Centre, Wickford, moves from 'quadrant' store to a stand-alone unit
    - Major refurbishment of Broomfield, the last Foodcentre to be rebranded in the 'Altogether Fresher!' format
    - Trent Road becomes the first of a new concept for small food stores, branded 'Co-op Local'
    - Travel Department joins CTTG buying group
    - Food Department opens two more units - Southchurch Road in Southend, and in St Peter's Road, Wickford
  2005 - New Co-op local food stores opens in White Court, Braintree and Melbourne, Chelmsford
    - 'quadrant' Wickford closes

Department Store Division join AIS buying group.

    - 'quadrant' Chelmsford gets major
refurbishment and relaunched with a new black colour scheme.
    - Co-op Local in Melbourne gets extended via the purchase of the store next door.
  2007 - Society opens in February a new Travelcentre in Ingatestone.
    - Wickford Travelcentre closes in March.
    - Braintree quadrant gets relaunched in May.
    - May sees the opening of a new foodstore in East Tilbury.
    - Funerals opens in May, new premises in Danbury.
    - Funerals opens in September, new premises in Writtle.
  2008 - Acquired new food store in Forest Drive, Chelmsford

Ingatestone Travel closes in August

  2009 -

Closed our White Court food store in January

    - 10th Anniversary of Community Card
    - Over 175 Community Card accounts opened
    - National membership Card adopted in September
    - Record Profits
  2010 - The Co-operative Calcutta Road, Tilbury opened in January

The Co-operative South Ockendon opened in March

    - The final ‘Altogether Fresher’ concept store (Duke Street) is rebranded as ‘The Co-operative’ on 12th August
