Shopping with Attitude
The Co-operative Movement came into existence
because of concern for people, and particularly what they had to
eat and what they had to pay for their food.
Even today a recent survery found that eight out
of ten consumers do not trust the food they buy. They want to know
more about its origin, what it contains and the condition under
which it is produced.
Today's consumer has genuine ethical concerns
and six out of ten are now prepared to boycott products that do
not meet their ethical standards.
Your Co-operative has a clear agenda to address six areas
of consumer concern, these are:
The Whole Truth
Telling the truth on a product label, so consumers
can make and informed decision about whether or not to buy.
Food Integrity
Prodviding products which are formulated, manufactured
and marketed in a way consumers can trust.
