Introducing your new membership card from Chelmsford Star
Members of Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society have historically used a ‘chip and pin’ card called the Starcard to collect Stars from the majority of purchases in our stores. This in turn is converted into Dividend based on profitability the end of each year in May following the Society’s Annual General Meeting.
As a result of extensive discussions with the Co-operative Group - the UK’s largest Co-operative retailer – we are delighted to announce that the Starcard will now be replaced with The Co-operative Membership, a national membership scheme with many more benefits.
when?
Beginning in September 2009 we will introduce TCM into Ingatestone branch, and then plan to roll out the scheme progressively for completion by November 2009.
During this period, all active members of Chelmsford Star will receive their replacement membership card via the post including a questions and answers guide to potential queries.
how?
All your membership details such as share capital and dividend entitlement will be transferred onto the new Co-operative Membership card before you receive it. This new card will then continue to operate in the same way as the old Starcard and will offer the same level of return. Please note however, that ‘Stars’ will now be known as ‘points’ and ‘dividend’ as ‘a share of the profits’.
what’s new?
You will be able to use your new Co-operative Membership card in any other Society participating in the national scheme, simply look for the membership sticker displayed on the door or window.
