Every year, hundreds of co‑ops and organisations across the UK work together to celebrate and promote co‑ops during Co‑op Fortnight.
What is Co-op Fortnight?
Originally launched in 2010, Co-op Fortnight has gone from strength to strength.
Co-op Fortnight is organised by Co-operatives UK and is then brought to life through events and sharing stories about the power of co‑operation via social media.
This year we want to tell inspiring stories that show how co-ops are making a difference to people, to communities and the wider economy.
Co‑op Fortnight takes place from Monday 19 June to Sunday 2 July, with the International Day of Co-ops taking place on Saturday 1 July.
During this Fortnight we will be organising a BIG CO-OP CLEAN UP in Chelmsford. We will be meeting in Bell Meadow on Friday 30th June at 12.30pm. The event will be for two hours and voluneers will clean up along the river and the central park area.
If you’d like to take part please get in touch with Julie (julieb@chelmsfordstar.coop) 0800 2540404
Please wear sturdy footwear. Limited equipment will be available, however if you have your own litter pickers and gloves that would be really useful.
