Big Co-op Clean Up's 2019

Clean ups Essex

Chelmsford Star Co-op first took part in the 'Big Co-op Clean Up' in 2015 to support and celebrate Co-op Fortnight. Since then, Co-op Clean Up's have been an annual event for us.

Last year we started working in partnership with primary schools in Essex, encouraging school children to take pride in and look after the environment. We have already started working with primary schools, Brownies, Rainbows and Cubs groups throughout 2019, helping them to litter pick in their local communities. The children have loved getting out of the classroom and helping us to collect bag fulls of litter.

We have 3 clean ups where we are looking for volunteers:

- Braintree & Bocking Public Gardens (Braintree) on Friday 2nd August. 10AM - 12PM, meeting at the co-op gazebo.

- Central Park (Chelmsford) on Friday 9th August, working in partnership with 'Love Your Chelmsford', part of Chelmsford City Council. 12.30PM - 2.30PM, meeting at theco-op gazebo in Bell Meadow.

- Hullbridge Recreational Ground (Hullbridge) on Wednesday 28th August. 1PM - 3PM.

- Shoebury Common Beach (Shoeburyness) on Friday 20th September, part of the Marine Conservation Society's Great British Beach Clean. 10AM - 12PM, meeting at the co-op gazebo on the beach (SS3 9HG). THIS CLEAN UP IS NOW FULLY SUBSCRIBED SO WE CANNOT TAKE ANY MORE VOLUNTEERS FOR THIS.

All equipment will be provided for volunteers. Groups are welcome to attend.
