Since 2006, Chelmsford Star Co-operative has supported a different local charity each year to be the focus for all fundraising. Over this time through a variety of initiatives and events, we have raised over £395,000 which has benefited the Essex Air Ambulance, Helen Rollason Heal Cancer, Little Havens Children’s Hospice, Macmillan Cancer Support, Families InFocus(Essex), Canine Partners, Essex Dementia Care, The J's Hospice, MIND, Kids Inspire and Little Haven's.
This year we are working with Alzheimer's Society. (Since our AGM in May 2018)
The total amount raised for Little Havens in 2018 was announced on 14th May 2018 as £77,911.60.
Their mission is to transform the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will strive to create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
