Chelmsford Star Coop is attending the Festival of Food and Drink 2015 at the Cressing Temple on 18/19 July, with its own marquee branded “The Only Way is Local” – Support your Essex Producer.
The marquee will show case 20 Essex food and drink suppliers who currently supply the Society’s 39 convenience stores located across the county.
Vanessa Howard, Head of Marketing for the Society commented;
“We attended last year in a lesser capacity and the event was so successful, that we are returning this year with many more of our suppliers.”
“Attendees of the show seemed to love locally produced goods and having them all in one location makes it easier to appreciate the wealth of quality and variety available from our own county. “
The Essex producers will be offering tastings as well as selling goods in the branded marquee including beer, smoothies, jam, honey, ice cream, frozen yogurt, pies, sausages, sauces, flavoured oils, cakes, muffins, cupcakes, popcorn, crisps, and more.
The Society now stocks almost 50 local suppliers and has recently listed English strawberries grown in Fiveways fruit farm near Colchester, Essex grown frozen fruit from DC Williams and frozen fish and shellfish by Ken Green Fish Merchants, Clacton- on-sea.
