Remembrance Services on 13th December 2019...

Many people find this time of year difficult. As families gather for laughter and gifts, it can make the pain of bereavement or loneliness all the stronger.

We’ve won multiple awards for our efforts in bringing comfort to those struggling, and this year we’re once again holding our popular Christmas Remembrance Services. Held simultaneously in both Braintree and Chelmsford, each offers an uplifting mix of carol singing and readings, as well as a moving performance of The Last Post performed by the Royal British Legion. Those in attendance are also able to leave memories and messages on a specially blessed Christmas tree and light a candle in honour of a loved one. Plus, mulled wine and mince pies, of course.

Services are being held in both Chelmsford and Braintree on 13th December, at 6.30pm.

Chelmsford: Central Baptist Church, Victoria Road S, CM1 1LN

Braintree: Private chapel, Co-op Funeral Directors, Clare Road. CM7 2PA

One attendee at last year’s service remarked; “I come to this event every year, because although it’s a difficult time for me I find it to be a joyful and uplifting evening”.

The services are both free to attend and open to all. The team will also be reading out a list of names of the departed as part of a Memorial Roll Call. To add someone’s name to the list, contact us.

If you know of someone struggling with bereavement, please let them know that Co-op Funeral Directors also hold support groups across the county all year round, free for all, with regular meetings in Chelmsford, Braintree, Ingatestone, Writtle and over select weekends.

If you do know someone who finds life difficult at this time of year, why not give them a call on Christmas Day? It may be the best present you give.
