The inauguration of our Fairtrade Woodland was a great success, not least that we had good weather, and we were delighted with the support we received.
Cllr. Deakin, Cabinet Member for Safer Chelmsford, welcomed everyone and the Mayor of Chelmsford, Cllr. Bob Massey spoke about the Council's long-standing support for Fairtrade, and then planted one of our 15 trees. After that, we all joined in.
Many thanks have to be recorded to pupils and staff from Thriftwood College and to Fairtrade supporter, John Boreham, who travelled from Brentwood to 'dig for Fairtrade'.
