We are all greatly saddened by the recent passing of our dear Queen Elizabeth II and our thoughts and prayers are with the Royal family as they move through this period of very public mourning, whilst remembering their own very personal experiences of a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II dedicated herself to a life of service to her country and the Commonwealth and she has been a figurehead of national unity and stability at a time of enormous change.
Monday will therefore be an extremely sad and poignant moment in our history and as a mark of respect, we have taken the decision to close our department stores, travel, and funeral branches on Monday 19th September.
Our Co-operative food stores will be closed until 5pm on Monday, to allow our colleagues and members to observe the funeral, whilst still being able to serve the local community.
Our store in Bridge Street, Writtle, and all of our Post Offices will be closed all day.
All of our stores will be open on Tuesday, as usual.
