Rearranges near completion at Chelmsford Quadrant

Monday Apr 08, 2024

A series of department moves have been completed within Chelmsford Quadrant, and store managers hope it will make the store easier for our customers to shop and provide a simpler shopping experience.

The first move that customers will notice is that our popular Co-op Travel department has come down to the ground floor, with its own door leading to the high street. We’re confident this will help more people benefit from the award-winning customer service that our travel team provide, not to mention provide easier access to our competitive foreign currency desk.

The new department also encompasses the repositioned luggage department, which is now ideally placed for those looking to book a holiday. To celebrate, all Co-op members booking a holiday with us are currently receiving 20% off all luggage.

Also nearby, we’ve moved all swimwear and holiday-appropriate clothing. It seems the logical place for it and customers seem to agree!

Also on the ground floor, we’ve moved all linens and bedding, cookshop, housewares and small electricals.

Our selection of kitchen ranges have always been extremely popular, so we hope this move from the back of the first floor will allow them to be discovered by a whole new set of shoppers.

Moving to “the bridge” on the first floor, opposite the restaurant, is our carpet department. This department has moved a couple of times over recent years, as we tried to make it more accessible to the public, and we’re pleased how quickly it has settled into its new home! We hope our customers feel the same way.

The other significant change is the entire move of our bed department, coming down from our second floor to the first, along with our bedroom furniture department that now gets its own dedicated area. This huge selection can be discovered at the top of the escalator on the first floor.

The second floor is now closed to the public, and will be used for storage and by our warehouse.

We’re very pleased with our rearrange, and the early signs are that our members and customers agree. What do you think? Let us know via
