Chelmsford Star Co-operative has a new Society President, Ms Susan Sullivan.
Susan was elected by her fellow Directors following outgoing President, Pauline Dodd’s, completion of three full terms, which required her to step down in order to comply with Society rules. Susan is no stranger to positions of responsibility as she is also a Councillor for Springfield North.

On Friday 2nd June, Chelmsford Star Co-operative launched their Charity of the Year partnership with Little Havens Hospice.
Members of the Co-op joined Community Fundraiser Claire Wilson, Little Havens’ mascot Betsy the Butterfly and Chelmsford Star’s mascot Cooper the Bear at the hospice for a tour, meet some of the children who use the hospice and to find out more about the charity.
Congratulations to Melissa Kirby from Chelmsford for winning our online competition to win 6 bottles of Fairtrade wine, which celebrated Fairtrade fortnight back in May.
A local children’s charity is able to fund its offices for a year thanks to a large donation from the Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society.
Employees and customers of the Essex-based retailer raised a huge £34,320 for Kids Inspire, a charity helping disadvantaged young people turn their lives around and give them back their future. Many children are referred to Kids Inspire having experienced abuse, loss or anxiety, when other agencies consider them ‘too complex’ to help.

Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society’s 150-year celebrations have been given a further boost after being shortlisted in the UK-wide Co-operative of the Year awards.
The Essex-based retailer is pitted against two other co-operative businesses in an online vote to decide the winner in the Leading Co-operative of the Year category.
Our AGM was held on Monday 8th May and announces £34,319 raised for our Charity of the Year; Kids Inspire.
Thanks to our customers and colleagues who combined raised over £34k for local charity KIDS Inspire, it was announced at our AGM last night. Fundraising Manager Paula Ashfield said it would fund their office for a year, so it was a terrific accomplishment. Thank you!
