We help the Writtle Brownies to gain their zero waste badges…

Emily and Julie from the Membership and Marketing team were helping out in the community yesterday evening (12th October) with the Writtle Brownies group.

The Brownies were undertaking a clean-up of the local Writtle area along with the Brownie Group leaders and Duke of Edinburgh Volunteers.

Chelmsford Co-op supplied the equipment and assisted at the event to ensure the safety of the children. The Brownies, who are all due to go on a three-night Brownie camp soon found the event beneficial and were earning points towards their ‘Zero Waste’ badges.

Julie commented, “It’s great that we, as a Co-op can help to raise awareness and educate young people on the importance of a clean environment and to be aware of living in a zero waste community.”
